You can't set deadlines externally. But you can encourage contributors to self-set deadlines.
This pattern applies in any Collaborative Translation context where contributors are mostly volunteers
When the bulk of contributors are volunteers, it can be hard or nearly impossible for an organization or Community Manager to set deadlines. Yet, deadlines are a useful tool for ensuring the timely completion of tasks.
Therefore, encourage contributors to provide self-set deadlines for the tasks they are volunteering for. Of course, such deadlines cannot be enforced, but they still act as a self-imposed pressure to perform, which can also be effective. Also, the self-set deadline provides the basis for Community Managers to plan when a big project (ex: a Campaign ) is likely to be completed.
